General Paediatric Surgery

Under general paediatric surgery, we usually group together interventions that are common and do not require special knowledge of an organ system. However, this should not lead to the assumption that these are not special or do not require extensive experience.

Typical questions in general paediatric surgery are:

  • Thickening and protrusion of the skin
  • Umbilical hernia and dripping navel
  • Groin hernia and hydrocele
  • Testicular torsion
  • Testicular pain
Severe and particularly sudden onset of testicular pain requires immediate clarification. Outside office hours present yourself at a paediatric surgical clinic, please!
  • Phimosis
  • Paronychia (infection of the nail bed)

In addition, we also perform various laboratory tests (including blood sampling) and vaccinations, including travel vaccinations (except for yellow fever) as needed.
