• Former paratrooper in the German Armed Forces
• Several years of professional experience in a clinical paediatric emergency department
• More than 10 years voluntary lifeguard at the German Life-Saving Society (DLRG)

• Several years of surgical and intensive care experience in a hospital
• Several years of experience in community care
• Several years of experience in a child and adolescent psychiatric practice
• Long-term involvement in emergency pastoral care
• Long-term involvement in the DLRG at various levels of organization, including as a contact person for respectful interaction with boundaries (safeguarding against abuse)
