There can be all sorts of things (special features, accompanying illnesses, physical limitations, etc.) that make your child and every doctor's visit special. We try to address these as well as possible and have the necessary experience and expertise. Some special features we would like to mention here, without excluding others.
The autism spectrum is broad and the path to diagnosis can be long. This path must be taken with your psychologist or psychiatrist. But you also know the challenges that lurk everywhere in everyday life. We have a long experience with patients from the autism spectrum, whether from the clinic (Mr. Bretschneider and Dr. Rogge) or from working in a child and adolescent psychiatric practice (Mrs. Stracke) or from working in crisis and conflict pedagogy at Raphael Kirsch Training (Dr. Rogge). We look forward to seeing you and especially your child and are happy to take on the challenges!
You might wonder what this has to do with a surgical practice. We'll explain it: Starting from the consideration in the planning/preparation of an operation to sports-related limitations that are mentioned incidentally during the conversation, this disease pattern plays a role again and again. The complete diagnosis and precise setting is done by your pediatric pulmonologist. We take the asthma/chronic obstructive bronchitis into account when performing operations, so that outpatient surgery is still possible. In addition, we are happy to advise you on sports-related aspects. Dr. Rogge has had the opportunity to expand his expertise in this area during a year at the Satteldüne Clinic for Children's Rehabilitation on Amrum and can also pass on many practical tips.
There are now numerous patients who are actually diagnosed with neurodermatitis only in the context of a surgical treatment, for example after an accident, because the skin was not so noticeable during the last check-up. The experience from the children's rehabilitation in the Satteldüne Clinic on Amrum has shaped Dr. Rogge's approach, so that attention is paid to this. Also this is not insignificant in a surgical context, whether it's the skin under (plaster) bandages or wounds caused by an outbreak of neurodermatitis. Understanding the regular skin care (basic care) and also occasion-related or proactive therapies makes it easier for us to advise you specifically—both in the context of surgical disease patterns, but also in sports-related questions.
Your pediatric diabetologist diagnoses, treats, and advises you here, of course, primarily. We know, however, what it's about in the context of operations with fasting periods or sports, and we can support you here additionally.
These are surgical disease patterns that are initially primarily surgical, but then raise more child gastroenterological questions in the further course. Due to our clinical experience, we are happy to welcome them in our practice for surgical questions. Please send us the relevant documents in advance so that we can prepare ourselves.
Physical limitations of children and adolescents also bring challenges that we are happy to consider in the practice.
